CheckPoint Pneumatic Pumps Proven More Reliable

Customer provides compelling field repair records

Since our inception in 1993, new customers have been told that our pumps are the most reliable chemical injection pumps available at any price; we have backed up this claim by offering free trial pumps to any new customer. Our success rate selling through after a trial exceeds 97%.

Recently, one of our existing customers was kind enough to provide some compelling data. Their chemical treatment program was very well documented and included precise repair frequency and cost information over a one year period.

This is our customer’s actual experience over the course of 12 months. The field consisted of a total pump population of 1,796 pumps. Of these, 670 were CheckPoint Series 1250 pneumatic pumps. Pumps A and B, of which there were 825 and 301 units respectively, are both electric.

The application is natural gas well dewatering (foamer) at an average flow rate of 1 USG/DAY @ 1500 - 2500 PSIG pressure.

The data were analyzed and the results indicate that CheckPoint pumps were much more reliable and less expensive to maintain.

After the release of the original data, our customer disclosed that the rate of failure of the 700 plus CheckPoint units currently in their field had actually decreased over the past 6 months, while the cost and frequency of repairs for the other two pump manufacturers had risen.

MTBF: “Mean Time Between Failures” is a statistical term used to predict the number of failures in a population of pumps:

Expected failures = [(# pumps) x (cumulative days in service)] / MTBF
